Oscars Night is coming, and the bettors are just as excited as the paparazzi for the 2020 Academy Awards. On Sunday, February 9th, you’ll see the best of Hollywood celebrating themselves and cinema Live from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.
According to the bettors and most of the Hollywood trades, Joaquin Phoenix is a massive favorite to win for his transcendent performance in Joker. Though there are questions about the technical work of the film and the script, no one can lay a glove on how Phoenix drove the material.
Adam Driver’s work as a divorcing playwright in Marriage Story is getting much acclaim, and don’t count out a min-surge from an almost overlooked Leonardo DiCaprio in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, but this is overwhelmingly Phoenix’s award to lose. The betting markets seem to agree, and so do all the other film awards from Golden Globes to the BAFTA’s given this year.
Below are the updated odds, as well as how much action is bet on each film, from DraftKings Sportsbook.
