The Georgetown guard is dealing with a foot injury and is questionable for today’s game against Xavier. We check on his status.

UPDATE: After the game, head coach Patrick Ewing said that he cannot worry about a timetable for McClung or Yurtseven’s return. He also said McClung has not required surgery for his injury, although he remains in a walking boot.

UPDATE: Mac McClung was spotted wearing a walking boot before Sunday’s game and was in a suit and tie and not playing, per Adam Baum. Omer Yurtseven also sat out the game.

Georgetown Hoyas sophomore guard Mac McClung is questionable for Sunday’s game vs. Xavier with a foot injury. McClung has missed six of the Hoyas last seven contests, including last Wednesday night at Marquette. He is the team’s second leading scorer averaging 15.7 points per game.

McClung returned on February 19th vs. Providence, but only scored two points in eight minutes of play in a 73-63 loss to the Friars.

Also potentially missing today’s game is Georgetown senior center Omer Yurtseven, who has missed three of the last four games as well. Yurtseven came back on February 22nd with 26 minutes against DePaul, but only had five points and eight rebounds with three turnovers. He then sat out the last game against Marquette alongside McClung, a 93-72 loss to Marquette.

The Hoyas have been bit by the injury bug all throughout conference play, and Patrick Ewing and his charges as they haven’t really had a full roster since the beginning of conference play. McClung is an 80.2% free throw shooter, with a usage rate amongst the top 100 players in America. His healthy presence would a team that needs stability and shooting in the backcourt.

As of now, the Hoyas are a 1.5 point underdog today vs. Xavier at DraftKings Sportsbook. The healthy presence of McClung or Yurtseven would likely move that number however.
