After serving a 12-game suspension for his role in an in-game brawl in January, Kansas Jayhawks forward Silvio De Sousa was reinstated for the final regular season game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders, but he did not appear in the game.
De Sousa picked up a chair against the Kansas State Wildcats on Jan. 21 and swung it over his head, but it was knocked out of his hands by a Kansas assistant coach before anybody was injured with it.
De Sousa received double digit minutes once this season even before his suspension. De Sousa is averaging 2.6 points and 2.8 rebounds over 18 games this season. With Kansas locked in as a No. 1 seed before Thursday’s game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys, maybe Bill Self will use more rotations to keep some of his key pieces healthy for the NCAA Tournament.
Kansas enters today’s game winning 16 consecutive games and swept the season series with Oklahoma State with a pair of blowouts. The Cowboys are going for their fifth win in a row.
