The VCU Rams could be without two key pieces during Thursday’s A-10 second round matchup against the Massachusetts Minutemen. Neither team is on the bubble radar, so they will need to win the A-10 Tournament to be a part of the NCAA Tournament.
Senior guard De’Riante Jenkins is ruled out indefinitely as he continues to deal with a personal matter. The team’s second leading scorer has not appeared in a agme since Feb. 26. He is averaging 10.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, two assists and a team-high 1.9 rebounds.
Senior forward Issac Vann is questionable for the game with a calf injury. He is averaging 7.3 points, two rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals this season, playing in all 31 games.
VCU comes in to the game as seven-point favorites against UMass at DraftKings Sportsbook. In the lone game between these two teams during the regular season, the Minutemen earned a 60-52 home victory on Feb. 26. Jenkins scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Vann added six points and three assists in the loss.
