There are some talented linebackers entering the 2020 NFL Draft, and we’re breaking down the DraftKings Sportsbook odds for which one could have his name called first in April. Clemson’s Isaiah Simmons (-1250) is the favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook, and he’s trailed by LSU’s K’Lavon Chaisson (+600) and Oklahoma’s Kenneth Murray (+3300).
Simmons tested extremely well at the combine. He’s 6’4”, weighs in at 238 pounds, and has a sub-4.4 40-yard dash. His combination of size and burst gives him versatility few other prospects can compete with. Teams will be salivating over a player who can battle in the trenches but also be a valuable contributor in pass coverage.
It’s unlikely that any linebacker will go before Simmons, but Chaisson is a sleeper you should keep an eye on. He missed all of 2018 with a torn ACL, but returned to lead a talented LSU defense in tackles for a loss (13.5) in 2019 while notching 6.5 sacks on the year. He’s said to be fully recovered and has the length, flexibility, and change of direction to be a difference-maker.
One notable dark horse to watch is also from LSU, and his name is Patrick Queen (+3300). Queen has seen tremendous movement on draft boards. He only started as a junior and doesn’t have the full body of work others have, but was the Tigers’ defensive MVP in the national championship. Lack of experience might be evident, but his ceiling his high. He boasts the same kind of speed and versatility that other top linebacker prospects possess.
