The final three matches to open the Australian Football League season get underway at 10:05 p.m. ET tonight, giving fans an option to watch some football during the coronavirus crisis. The action has been great to open the weekend, and we should see more this evening.
St. Kilda vs. North Melbourne
The St. Kilda Saints head to North Melbourne for the early match at 10:05 p.m. tonight. The Saints finished 9-13 last year, good for 14th place in the 18-team AFL. They’re expected by team ownership to be a bit improved this season, and compete for the top eight and the AFL Finals for the first time since 2011. Look for new acquistion Bradley Hill to be a factor if the Saints are to compete this season.
North Melbourne is also expected to improve slightly in 2021, but for both teams success would be reach the Finals this season.
Brisbane vs. Hawthorn
The Brisbane Lions head to Hawthorn to face the Hawks. Brisbane was second in the table in 2019, but washed out in the AFL Finals going 0-2 after losing the opener to eventual champs Richmond.
