Detroit Pistons PF/C Christian Wood has been cleared of coronavirus, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported Thursday afternoon. Wood tested negative for COVID-19 on Wednesday night, per the report. Wood’s agent told reporters Wednesday that the PF/C was feeling great in his recovery from coronavirus.
This is great news for the NBA and a step in the right direction toward returning to the court. Wood was among one of the first players to test positive for coronavirus when the League decided to suspend play a few weeks ago. It’s also great news for the Pistons, who will have a healthy No. 1 scoring option available if the regular season resumes at some point. If the season goes right into the playoffs, at least Detroit knows it has a very promising young big.
