UPDATE: March 4, 1:46 p.m. — Williamson was not listed on the injury report for Wednesday’s game vs. the Mavericks, so it appears the rookie will play both ends of the back-to-back after all. It’s unclear if some type of minutes restriction will be in place, but for now, Zion is fine to roll out in all formats. I’d consider him a decent GPP play on DraftKings if he won’t be limited.
Well this is a pleasant surprise Tuesday evening. New Orleans Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry confirmed to reporters that rookie Zion Williamson is expected to play both ends of the upcoming back-to-back: Tuesday vs. the Timberwolves and Wednesday vs. the Mavericks. Originally, the plan was for Zion to sit out one end of said back-to-backs. Now, that doesn’t appear to be the case. Gentry was a little mum on the other details, so my guess is things could change. For now, we can expect another update on Williamson and how many minutes he’ll be allowed to play in Dallas on Wednesday night.
Correction: Gentry said Zion Williamson will play tomorrow night in Dallas.
