The Seattle Dragons (1-3) and undefeated (4-0) Houston Roughnecks to kick off Week 5 of the XFL on Saturday. The Roughnecks are the favorites to win the title on DraftKings Sportsbook (+160) while the Dragons are dead last in the odds (+3500).
Kickoff will be at 2:00 p.m. ET at TDECU Stadium in Houston Texas. The game will be broadcast on ABD but also streamed on the ESPN Sports App.
Houston has the league’s best quarterback in P.J. Walker and the best wideout in Cam Phillips. The dynamic duo was slowed down by the Dallas Renegades in Week 4, but have still combined for 333 yards through the air and seven touchdowns this season. The Roughnecks’ defense has also excelled in taking the ball away from the opposition, and that doesn’t bode well for the Dragons.
Seattle has started Brandon Silvers under center for four straight weeks, but benched him after he threw for 27 yards in the first half against the St. Louis BattleHawks. Backup signal caller B.J. Daniels led an impressive second-half surge that nearly but the Dragons back in the game though. Silvers has been erratic has a 52% completion percentage this year. Perhaps it’s time for Seattle to make a permanent change in an attempt to turn its season around.
The Roughnecks are expected to blow the Dragons out of the water and are favored by 12.5 points. The over/under for total points is set at 46. Houston has been consistently dynamic on offense, but what kind of game Seattle will bring to the table is up in the air.
