Well, they are officially not getting the officials and giving the Dragons one last play. We’ll hear plenty about this moving forward, but this game is now in the books with Houston taking the win.

It looks like they’re going to end the game despite the clock discrepancy. Not a great look for the XFL, but at least the Roughnecks deserved to win. Twitter is having a conniption fit at the moment.

Walker runs around, downing the ball 4 times and losing 17 yards to salt the clock away, but it looks like there should be 1 or 2 seconds left on the clock, which would give the Dragons the ball at the Houston 26 down 9.

If you bet the Dragons to cover, get happy, because the Roughnecks are kneeling to run out the clock and go 5-0 on the season.

Roughnecks fans are having some fun up 32-23 with the possession and 2:05 left on the clock:

BIG PLAY!

Roughnecks sack Daniels on 3rd and 10 causing a fumble and Houston recovers to likely seal the win.

Daniels connect with Proehl for 28 yards but now are at 3rd and 10.

It’s a nine-point game, so the Dragons are technically still one-score down, as they can go for a 3-point extra point(s).

Extra point unsuccessful.

TOUCHDOWN Cam Phillips, his second of the day, ninth of the season, gives the Roughnecks a 32-23 lead with 3:28 left in the game.

Seattle called for roughing the passer on 2nd and 15. Big hit to their chances with 3:28 left.

Walker now at 338 yards passing with 2 TDs and 2 INTs.

Walker hits Sam Mobley for a 25 yard gain. Mobley continuing to earn time even when Sammie Coates returns.

B.J. Daniels and the Dragons cannot get anything done as the Roughnecks force another 3 and out.

Cam Phillips passes 100 yards and records his league leading 8th touchdown reception of the season. He is back!

UPDATE: 4:32 pm — Roughnecks 26 - Dragons 23 — 9:03 left in the 4th quarter

We’ve hit the over, but the Roughnecks will need a couple scores to cover

What a game! Walker has three turnovers, but continues to bounce right back with big play after big play.

Two-point attempt unsuccessful

TOUCHDOWN! P.J. Walker to Cam Phillips 5 yard reception — Roughnecks 26 - Dragons 23

As the Roughnecks close in on the end zone, they’ve started rushing more, Williams and Butler picking up good yardage.

Walker finally uses his wheels, rushing for a 9-yard gain on 2nd and 10. He’s a strong runner, but doesn’t use it as often as he could due to the success he’s had passing this year.

Walker dinking and dunking with two six yard receptions and a five yarder to start this drive.

The Seattle defense is giving Seattle a big boost, as their offense isn’t getting the job done right now, as they go three and out after the interception.

BIG PLAY!

P.J. Walker intercepted again. This time on a great catch by the corner on the sideline. Walker gives and Walker takes away.

Update 4:14 pm — Walker quickly hooks up with Cam Phillips again, this time for a 15 yard gain. Phillips is up to 7 receptions for 96 yards on 9 targets.

Pass interference on 3rd and 11 keeps the Dragons moving forward, but B.J. Daniels takes a 7 yard sack on 3rd and 9 forcing the Dragons to punt.

Dragons 23 - Roughnecks 20 with 7 minutes left in the third quarter. We’re closing in on that over!

Three-point extra points unsuccessful.

TOUCHDOWN Jame Butler, 8-yard rush to make it a 23-20 Dragons lead.

BIG PLAY!

P.J. Walker hits Cam Phillips for a 42 yard gainer down to the Seattle 10 yard line.

A little carb loading at halftime for Cam Phillips!

Two-point extra point is unsuccessful.

TOUCHDOWN B.J. Daniels one-yard run, his second goal line touchdown run of the game! Dragons 23 - Roughnecks 14 — 8:56 left in the 3rd quarter.

BIG PLAY!

P.J. Walker intercepted on a poor out pass and returned 52 yards to the goal line.

UPDATE: 3:51 pm — Walker takes over at the Houston 34 yard line with 10:48 left in the 3rd quarter.

47 yard field goal by Ernesto Lacayo is good: Dragons 17 - Roughnecks 14

Seattle gets the ball to start the 3rd quarter and Daniels gets his team moving downfield quickly, but a sack on third and five at the Houston 25 sends out the kicking team.

So far, the Roughnecks are at 6 yards per play, Dragons 2.1 yards per play. Daniels might have to start airing it out a bit more in the second half if Walker continues to play like his has in the second quarter. Jim Zorn’s conservative approach isn’t going to help against the Roughnecks offense.

Notable halftime stats:

B.J. Daniels: 8/12, 48 yards passing, 7 rushes for 25 yards and a TD
Trey Williams: 4 rushes for 25 yards and a TD
P.J. Walker: 12/17, 182 yards passing, 1 TD
Sam Mobley 3-of-4 for 59 yards
Nick Holley 2-of-3 for 56 yards and a TD
Cam Phillips: 5-of-7 for 33 yards

We’ve got a great game going on here, as the Roughnecks got down big but quickly came back on the arm of MVP to this point P.J. Walker.

HALFTIME — Seattle Dragons 14 - Houston Roughnecks 14

Walker hits Holley for the 2-point conversion to tie up the game with 13 seconds before halftime.

James Butler 1 yard TOUCHDOWN Dragons 14 - Roughnecks 12

Butler’s touchdown is overturned as he is down before the ball passes the plane, but he then is able to get in from one-yard out.

James Butler 5 yard TOUCHDOWN (Called back)

James Butler is stopped at the goal line and then a false start to the Seattle 5 yard line with 32 second remaining.

Walker is on fire now. nice gains over and over. Blake Jackson makes a 15 yard reception to the Seattle 2.

2nd and 1 after a 9 yard gain by Cam Phillips. Roughnecks at the Seattle 39 yard line and driving.

Walker hits Sam Mobley on a beautiful pass for 42 yards. We’ll find a clip of that one!

4th and 1 at the Seattle 46 yard line and Zorn decides to punt for a big 15 yards. Poor decision by Zorn there.

Kenneth Farrow and Daniels are moving the ball well. Farrow has four carries for 22 yards on this drive.

This game is shaping up to be a great one.

Houston can’t convert the 3-point attempt, Dragons 14 - Roughnecks 6 with 6:18 until halftime.

BIG PLAY ALERT!

Walker hits Nick Holley for a 50 yard touchdown on 3rd and 1!

Walker hits Kahlil Lewis on a short crosser and Lewis takes it for a 20 yard gain. His groin must feel okay.

Daniels hist Austin Proehl for the 2-point conversion to make it 14-0 Dragons as the upset continues to brew.

TOUCHDOWN! Dragons 12 - Roughnecks 0

Trey Williams 17 yard touchdown run! Williams weaved his way up the middle for his first rushing TD run of the season.

Daniels converts a 3rd and 4 at the Houston 25 with an 8 yard connection with tight end Evan Rodriguez.

Moore leads the Dragons with three targets while Keenan Reynolds has none and Austin Proehl has one.

Alonzo Moore fumbles and the Roughnecks recover but this one will be overturned. He was obviously down.

B.J. Daniels quickly gets the Dragons going on the ground for a 9 yard run.

The Roughnecks go for the 56 yard field goal on 4th and 12 and Castillo just misses wide right.

BIG PLAY ALERT

On 3rd and 7, Walker is then sacked for a 5 yard loss. Big play for the Dragons.

The call goes against the Roughnecks, as Mobley juggled the ball as he went out of bounds. No catch.

Sam Mobley getting a lot of work with Sammie Coates out. He catches a tough 12 yard pass for a 1st down at Seattle’s 20. They’ll take a look at the call.

1st Quarter is over: 1st and ten at Dragons 35 yard line to start the 2nd quarter, Dragons 6 - Roughnecks 0

Andre Williams is picking up good yardage and has the hot hand. That’s bad for those with James Butler in their DFS lineups. Williams now has four carries for 27 yards while Butler has one for five yards as the first quarter ends.

Sam Mobley gets his second reception, this time a 11 yard gainer for a first down. That gives Walker 1,000 yards passing on the season:

Walker hits Phillips for a 6 yard gain, Phillips fourth target. Then Kahlil Lewis sees his first target but drops it. (He was questionable with a groin injury)

Houston takes the kickoff out to the 18 yard line and Andre Williams gets his first two touches, rushing for 6 and 7 yards to get the Roughnecks moving.

The Dragons go for two for the extra points and Daniels cant hit his receiver. NO GOOD.

Dragons 6 - Roughnecks 0, 3:25 left in the first quarter.

Jim Zorn decides to go for it and BJ Daniels gets in for the TOUCHDOWN!

Dragons have a 3rd and goal at the Houston 2 yard line and Kenneth Farrow is stuffed. We’ll see if they go for it. They should.

BIG PLAY ALERT

Pass rush gets to PJ Walker, as Smith rips the ball out of Walker’s hands. Dragons ball at the Roughnecks 20.

2:17 pm - 7 minutes left in the first quarter Dragons 0 - Roughnecks 0

Daniels tries his first deep pass on 3rd and 2 but misses a wide open Alonzo Moore after Daniels bought a lot of time with his legs. Daniel’s deep passing accuracy is likely going to give his team trouble. They will punt.

Daniels hits his first pass of the game, a short out to Dontez Byrd for 4 yards. They’re playing fast and picking up 406 yard bits of turf.

Daniels with a 6 yard run on second down and then a first down on a five yard run. That’s why he’s starting, his ability to extend plays and pick up yardage on the ground.

Cam Phillips gets his third target but is covered well. The Roughnecks punt and B.J. Daniels will start at his 20.

Walker with two poor passes deep, his second into a nest of Dragons as he tried to hit Nick Holley.

Cam Phillips picks up the first down with a short reception. Two targets already for Phillips. They’re trying to get him back into the flow after a down Week 4.

And we are off! P.J. Walker starts with a deep shot to Cam Phillips but it’s nearly intercepted, but Walker comes back with a six yard conversion to Sam Mobley.

Looks like we’ll have partly cloudy skies with a slight chance for brief showers. The temperature is a nice 61 degrees with ESE winds at 11mph. Appears to be a good day to watch some football in Houston.

We’re closing in on kickoff. My picks for the Saturday slate on DK are HERE and my ATS picks are HERE. For this game I’m taking the Dragons to cover the 12 points and for the over to hit.

Official inactives 1:30 pm:

Update 12:50 —

Nothing surprising here. The loss of Ealy could hurt the Roughnecks defense and Sammie Coates absence should help Sam Mobley see more work. Kahlil Lewis, who was listed as questionable with a groin injury is active.

Update 12:45 —

Daniels gave the Dragons a spark last week with his ability to avoid tacklers and pick up rushing yards, so this isn’t a surprise, but coach Jim Zorn had talked about him splitting work with Brandon Silvers earlier in the week.

Interestingly, Silvers is listed as inactive. That means Daniels should get all the work and maybe wide receiver Keenan Reynolds is considered the backup quarterback?

Welcome to our Week 5 XFL live blog of the Houston Roughnecks vs. Seattle Dragons. The game starts at 2:00 pm ET in Houston’s TDECU Stadium. You can watch on ABC or the the ESPN app and follow along as we break down the game.

Right now the Roughnecks are a -12.5 favorite, with the over/under set at 46 at DraftKings Sportsbook. Houston is -500 on the money line, while Seattle is +380. On the DFS side, Houston’s P.J. Walker is $12,000 at DK, the highest priced player on this weekend’s slate as part of a seven-team roster, with the highest-valued Dragon being wide receiver Austin Proehl at $8,000.

Houston is the only undefeated team in the league and holds at least a two-game lead on every team not named the St. Louis BattleHawks, but they also are the only team to beat St. Louis. Houston has been winning on the arm of P.J. Walker with a big helping of Cam Phillips and his seven touchdown receptions.

The Dragons haven’t been nearly the team the Roughnecks have, winning just one game, a home affair against the Tampa Bay Vipers. Last week we saw Seattle quarterback Brandon Silvers completely shut their offense down until he was finally relieved by B.J. Daniels, who threw for 100 yards, one touchdown, one interception and ran seven times for 84 yards as he came close to bringing them back for a win, but ultimately failed.

Seattle coach Jim Zorn hasn’t named his starting quarterback and has hinted at switching them in and out. Sounds like a recipe for disaster, but who am I to get in the way of a disaster?

The Roughnecks have scored 126 total points while the BattleHawks are second with 91 and the Dragons are tied for sixth at 64. The Roughnecks have allowed the most total points on the season with 88, tied with the LA Wildcats while the Dragons are nipping at their heels with 87 points allowed.

Seattle has allowed 111.2 (5th) rushing yards per game at 3.53 (2nd) yards per carry while Houston has allowed 109.2 (4th) yards per game at 3.44 (1st) yards per carry.

Seattle gives up a 87.5 (7th) QBR and 226.2 (7th) passing yards per game at 7.38 (7th) yards per attempt while Houston gives up a 70.6 (1st) QBR and 225 (6th) passing yards per game at 6.06 yards per attempt.
