Alabama Crimson Tide junior guard John Petty Jr. appears to be ready to return to the starting lineup on Saturday at Missouri for the regular season finale. He is listed as probable after missing two games with an elbow injury.
Alabama could’ve used Petty in Tuesday night’s home loss to the Vanderbilt Commodores, giving them their second SEC victory of the season and their only road win of the season.
Petty is third on the team in scoring with 15 points per game and averages a team-high 6.6 rebounds. In his last full game, Petty went for 21 points and knocked down four 3-pointers in a 103-78 road win over Ole Miss on Feb. 22.
Alabama is a one-point road underdog against Missouri on Saturday at DraftKings Sportsbook. It’s difficult to see where the motivation lies with neither team vying for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Tide are very good against the spread this season at 19-11, but they covered just once in their last five games.
