Sunday’s three-game Madden slate will feature the Oakland Raiders, Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, and Pittsburgh Steelers. DraftKings will have a classic contest for , and we break down some ideal DFS strategies below. You can select play at DraftKings.
Quarterback
Lamar Jackson ($7,700) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Jackson has more fantasy upside than any other player in Madden. His speed (96) athleticism is unrivaled at the quarterback spot. His short throw accuracy (92) ranks in the top 10, which is helpful for when he targets Mark Andrews ($5,500). But he can also use his 92 throwing power to find the speedy Marquise Brown ($5,700). Jackson has too many ways to find the end zone. His price the highest in the field, but he’s worth it.
Other options: Matthew Stafford ($6,700) vs. Raiders
Running back
Tevin Coleman ($5,900) vs. Arizona Cardinals
Coleman averages more DKFP per contest (18.2) than any other running back in the slate. He rushed for 110 yards and two scores in his last outing. While the 49ers have a ton of depth in their backfield, Raheem Mostert ($4,000) and Matt Breida ($3,000) haven’t gotten a single carry through two simulations. Coleman has a good chance to dominate in terms of touches.
David Jonhson ($3,800) vs. San Francisco 49ers
Johnson has nine receptions through two simulations while Kenyan Drake ($4,200) only has one. Both running backs have similar skill sets, but Johnson has been more involved in the passing game. Those PPR points count, so go with the guy who’s been getting them consistently over the starter in this case.
Other option: James Conner ($5,100) vs. Ravens
Wide receiver
Kenny Golladay ($6,800) vs. Oakland Raiders
Golladay is the top target in a pass-powered offense and won’t face a cornerback with an overall rating above 75. He hasn’t scored yet in a simulation but is averaging over 11 DKFP per contest. I think he has a good chance to end his rut against a below average secondary at home.
Tyrell Williams ($6,000) vs. Detroit Lions
Despite his 82 overall rating, Williams has looked like an absolute superstar. He’s averaging a staggering 32.7 DKFP per game. He’ll be matched up against Darius Slay, but it’s hard not to go with him when he’s 162 receiving yards per game. Maybe his hot streak ends here, but $6,000 isn’t a bad price to pay considering his level of production.
Other option: Marvin Jones Jr. ($5,200) vs. Raiders
Tight End
Darren Waller ($5,300) vs. Detroit Lions
Waller had didn’t have a great game against the Buffalo Bills in his last simulation, but still averages the most DKFP per game (15.0) at his position. The Lions’ passing defense is weak aside from Slay, and the Lions’ linebackers should have a tough time dealing with Waller, who is one of the fastest tight ends in the game. I think he bounces back with another big performance against a team with no matchup for him.
Other option: George Kittle ($6,700) vs. Cardinals
Defense/Special Teams
San Francisco 49ers D/ST ($3,200) vs. Arizona Cardinals
The 49ers have a fearsome defensive line, and a great secondary to combat Arizona’s underwhelming receiving corps.
Other option: Ravens ($3,100) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
