Best lineup strategy for Vikings vs. Saints Madden simulation Showdown

Drew Brees has all the best weapons. We like him as a potential captain for Monday’s Vikings-Saints Madden simulation.

The Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints will face off in Monday’s final Madden sim at 8:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest. You can set your lineup and play at DraftKings.

Captain’s Picks

Drew Brees, QB, Saints ($16,200)

Brees is one of the most accurate quarterbacks around and has unlimited options to throw to. Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, and Jared Cook should be serviceable in the passing game. He’s averaging the most DKFP (16.6) per contest in the game and hasn’t thrown for less than 200 yards and a score in any sim.

Alvin Kamara, WR, Saints ($12,600)

Kamara is one of the few players we’ve seen rush for more than 100 yards in a madden sim. He’s also one of the best pass catchers at his position. He’ll likely get more touches than Michael Thomas ($16,800), so I like him as a significantly cheaper option with a high ceiling.

Flex Men

Wil Lutz, K, Saints ($3,800)

Lutz has ranks in the top five for kicking power (97) and kicking accuracy (89). New Orleans’ high-powered offense should get in scoring position often. Lutz has a good chance to score through point after attempts and should be a lock to convert longer field goals as well because of his stats.

Dalvin Cook, RB, Saints ($9,000)

Cook has a skill set similar to Kamara’s but is a little cheaper. Cook or Stefon Diggs ($10,000) could be the best offensive option for the Vikings. But Cook has been more consistent in DFS so far.
