Dalvin Cook had his healthiest year yet with the Minnesota Vikings last season. The running back ran for a career-high 1,135 yards and 13 scores in 14 appearances last season and proved that he can be a dependable option in the backfield.
With a little more consistency he could join the NFL’s top group rushers. He has a good chance to improve upon last year’s stats in 2020 if he stays healthy. Here’s why we think he’ll surpass the his over/under of 1160.5 for total rushing yards on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Prediction: Over 1160.5
Cook stepped it up when Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs struggled to produce throughout 2019, but now Diggs has been traded to the Buffalo Bills. That means Minnesota could have to turn to select a rookie to replace the wideout in the draft.
If Cousins dealt with confidence issues while throwing to Thielen and Diggs last year, more could emerge with a new receiving group. That could force the team to focus on the ground game and give more touches to Cook, who has established himself as an essential part of the Vikings’ offense. If Cooks plays in all 16 games next season, I’m confident he’ll set a new career high in rushing yards and hit the over on his offseason total.
