The National Hockey League extended its self-quarantine period 15 days to April 30, the League announced Tuesday. This is the third time the NHL has extended this recommendation and deputy commissioner Bill Daly had previously said the NHL will take this process slowly.
The NHL was put on hold on March 12 with just under a month left in the regular season. The League has said it hopes to finish the regular season or at least crown a champion in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. It may be tough and the timeline for a return continues to shrink with every passing day.
There have been reports that the NHL was exploring different locations for teams to play games, including North Dakota, which was suggested by Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet. Manchester, New Hampshire was also thrown around, both are college towns that have strong hockey programs with Arenas that can house games.
