Los Angeles Rams wideout Cooper Kupp had his best season yet in 2019. He emerged as his team’s top wideout and notched career-highs in receptions (94), receiving yards (1,164), and touchdowns 10. Kupp posted these numbers after missing eight games in 2018 because of a knee injury. He’s rebounded nicely and could be in for another big jump after recording his first 1,000-yard season.
DraftKings Sportsbook has Kupp’s over/under for total receiving yards set at 1120.5 ahead of the 2020 season. We think the fourth-year wideout is in a situation where he can surpass that projection with ease.
Prediction: Over 1120.5
Kupp is in a great spot. Los Angeles traded Brandin Cooks to the Houston Texans and released Todd Gurley this offseason. That means Kupp should have a lot less competition for targets. Cooks and Gurley accounted for 790 receiving yards last season, and that production has to be replaced somewhere. Kupp, Tyler Higbee, and Robert Woods could all benefit from this.
Jared Goff was tied with Jameis Winston for most passes attempted (626) in the 2019 season. Now he has a starting running back in Malcolm Brown who has never rushed for more than 300 yards in a season. The Rams were already a pass-heavy team before these roster changes. Even if the Rams invest in a day two running back, Kupp couldn’t ask for a better environment.
