Kenny Golladay had a great year in 2019 despite playing without quarterback Matthew Stafford for half the season. The Detroit Lions wideout led the league in touchdown catches (11) and notched 1,190 receiving yards.
The Lions will get Stafford back in 2020, but what’s that mean for Golladay’s production. DraftKings Sportsbook projects his receiving yards total to be similar to last years. His over under is set at 1,175.5, but he has a good chance to beat that mark.
Prediction: Over 1,175.5
Golladay totaled 35 receptions for 640 yards and seven scores through the first eight weeks of 2019. Stafford got hurt in Week 8, but Golladay produced at a similar level in the back half of the season. From Week 9 through the end of the regular season, the wideout logged 30 catches for 550 yards while David Blough and Jeff Driskel split time under center.
Stafford is significantly better than either of his backups and has consistently been among the league leaders in passing yards in recent years. There’s no reason to believe he won’t play more than eight games in 2020, and Golladay has led the team in targets for two straight years. It’s safe to say Golladay won’t decline in his fourth season with Detroit. He still hasn’t reached his peak.
