The New York Giants head south to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in today’s simulated Madden 20 game today at 1 p.m. ET, and DraftKings will have DFS contests available for the matchup. We broke down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the contest, which you can play at DraftKings.
Showdown is one captain with five other players, and the captain counts for 50% additional points.
Jameis Winston, QB, Buccaneers ($15,000)
Only the second Fantasy Football Hall-of-Famer in Tampa Bay history (Google Mike Alstott young’uns), Winston benefits from the fact that interceptions and fumbles hurt you a lot less in fantasy than in real football. Each one of his back-breaking INT’s and awful pocket presence fumbles is only -1 point. In his 72 game career, he has ONE HUNDRED AND SIX TURNOVERS, but that’s less than an average of -1.5 points per game. You can live with that in fantasy.
Saquon Barkley, RB, Giants ($14,400)
Not an ideal defense to be going up against, but with Daniel Jones still not a superstar, expect plenty of carries for the sixth-best running back in Madden ‘20 with an 89 rating. His versatility should be helpful here as well.
Sterling Shepard, WR, Giants ($6600)
Teammate Golden Tate rates an 83 overall by Madden, but is more than twice as expensive as Shepard in-game, who rates as an 82. A great spot here to save some cash and still get some production from a No. 3 wide receiver the computer likes.
Cameron Brate, TE, Buccaneers ($4200)
Another great spot to save some cash, as Brate catches touchdowns and gets plenty of work in the red zone, but costs $6000 less than OJ Howard in front of him with just a two-point rating difference. He’s been a favorite target of Winston, and his numbers have always been as strong: Brate has 27 TD’s in six seasons, while Howard has just 12 in three in Tampa Bay.
