The featured simulated basketball contest on DraftKings for Wednesday afternoon is between the Indiana Pacers and Charlotte Hornets. Here, we’ll go over how to approach lineup construction for the fantasy basketball contest.

Captain’s Picks

The options here are, well ahhh, bleak. Domantas Sabonis ($15,600) is really the only viable Captain in this entire contest. We can’t consider anyone on the Hornets other than maybe Devonte’ Graham ($14,700), but there’s a long stretch of games before the break in which Graham was not playing well at all. Terry Rozier ($13,200) doesn’t have the upside really. Sabonis is a double-double machine and is one of the better passing big men in the NBA. He’s pretty much a lock for your lineup in this contest, so you might as well Captain him.

FLEX Options

Let’s start off with some value, shall we? The Martin Bros. Caleb ($1,000) and Cody Martin ($2,800) are both really cheap for what they were doing before the hiatus. Caleb is cheaper because he’s only played in 18 games this season. The thing is, that should only increase his floor. Four of those 18 games Martin has scored in double figures, so there’s over a 20% chance you cash big value on a basement priced player.

As for his brother Cody, he had 14 games from the beginning of February into March that are perfect at this price. Cody was averaging around 28 minutes per contest during this stretch and he’s down below $3K. I’d argue stacking the two bros. is a decent idea, allowing you to pay up for Sabonis, Graham and whoever else you’re interested in.
