We’re wrapping up the week with another six-game slate of Madden simulations. Sunday’s lineup will feature the Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Chargers, Atlanta Falcons, Oakland Raiders, Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Jets, Tennessee Titans, and Chicago Bears. We break down the ideal picks at each position, and you can set your lineups here.
Quarterback
Philip Rivers ($6,900) vs. Lions
It doesn’t get much better than Rivers and the best route runner in Madden against one of the worst secondaries around. Keenan Allen is a dominant force, but Mike Williams and Hunter Henry should also benefit from this matchup. Rivers lit up the Miami Dolphins with 26.6 DKFP in his last outing and can do the same to Detroit.
Derek Carr ($6,500) vs. Falcons
Carr has continued to string together multi-touchdown games and is basically averaging 300 passing yards per game at this point. He leads all signal callers in DKFP per game (21.9). He hasn’t shown signs of slowing down and is connecting with Darren Waller consistently.
Other options: Jameis Winston ($6,300) vs. Jets, Matt Ryan ($7,200) vs. Raiders
Running back
Leonard Fournette ($5,700) vs. Dolphins
Fournette has the highest DKFP per game (18.3) at his position. He has also eclipsed 22 fantasy points in back-to-back contests. The Dolphins’ defensive line and linebacker group is below average, so I like the chances of Fournette continuing to dominate.
Dare Ogunbowale ($3,000) vs. Jets
Ogunbowale isn’t a player you should expect a ton of points from, but he’s a quality value play that could help you build elsewhere. His has the same ceiling as Peyton Barber or Ronald Jones but costs less. He’s been involved in the passing game early in all his sims and is most likely to get easy PPR points.
Tarik Cohen ($3,800) vs. Titans
Even though the Titans shut down the Arizona Cardinals in their last sim, Cohen remains my favorite value play at running back. He’s averaging 10.6 DKFP per game and has completely overwhelmed David Montgomery in terms of production. He hasn’t scored in two games but remains a better option than the starter.
Todd Gurley ($6,300) vs. Vikings
Gurley is coming off his best performance yet. He scored 25.1 DKFP in his last outing with 137 rushing yards and a score. While he only made notched one reception, eight minute quarters should help him continue to maximize his production moving forward as an all-purpose back.
Other option: Le’Veon Bell ($6,400) vs. Buccaneers, Jalen Richard ($6,400) vs. Falcons
Wide receiver
Keenan Allen ($7,600) vs. Lions
Allen is an elite route runner and will be up against a poor secondary. He leads all receivers in DKFP per game (20.5) and tallied 30.9 fantasy points in his last outing against the Dolphins. It’s hard to see the Lions shutting down one of the best receivers in the slate.
Marvin Jones Jr. ($5,100) vs. Chargers
Los Angeles has a strong secondary, but I like Jones to continue outperforming Kenny Golladay. Detroit has one of the least productive ground games in the slate and has made it a habit to throw the ball deep often. Golladay’s performance hasn’t justified his price, and Jones can give you similar stats.
Tyrell Williams ($6,000) vs. Falcons
Williams has cooled off some since his hot start in Madden sims, but is still capable of having big games. He’s second to Darren Williams in the passing game, but his speed (92) makes him a sturdy second target for Carr. Pay middle of the pack money for top-notch production.
Adam Thielen ($6,100) vs. Rams
Keep fading Stefon Diggs. The Vikings’ WR1 will be matched up against Jalen Ramsey and is only averaging 6.5 DKFP per game to Thielen’s 17.5. Thielen has consistently done more for less money.
Other option: DeVante Parker ($6,200) vs. Jaguars, Curtis Samuel ($4,200) vs. Seahawks
Tight End
Darren Waller ($5,100) vs. Falcons
A breakout real life season is continuing with a dominant start to the Madden sim season. He’s the leading tight end and the third leading scorer among ALL positions. He’s the fourth highest ranked tight end on the slate.
James O’Shaugnessy ($3,700) vs. Dolphins
The Dolphins defense stinks and O’Shaughnessy has two big games under his belt. This is a boom or bust pick because he’s a fairly middle of the road tight end. He’s got two games with a combined 51.5 DKFP, and two games with a combined 5.3 DKFP. Roll the dice!
Other option: Delanie Walker ($5,000) vs. Bears
Defense/Special Teams
Jets D/ST ($2,900) vs. Bucs
The Jets defense isn’t rated particularly well (80), but they’ve been a solid performer to date and have a fantastic matchup against Jameis Winston and the Bucs. The Jets are the third highest scoring team defense in this matchup, and Winston’s turnover-prone ways offer value.
Jaguars D/ST ($2,800) vs. Dolphins
Stick with the matchup value once again. The Dolphins offense stinks and the Jaguars in Madden are looking a little better than the real life Jaguars.
Other option: Titans D/ST ($2,200) vs. Bears
