Rob Gronkowski is a WWE Champion

With a freefall from a stage, he pins his dear friend Mojo Rawley and takes the 24/7 Championship

What does a man with three Super Bowl titles and a sure-fire Hall of Famer need? How about a WWE title as well.

With a big fall from atop a stage above the WWE Performance Center set, Rob Gronkowski jumped into a group of wrestlers, including his friend Mojo Rawley who was currently holding the belt. WWE 24/7 Championship rules state the title has to be defended anytime, anywhere. And as long as there’s a referee around to count to three, you are the winner if you can pin the man with the title.

Past 24/7 champions have included Fox Sports’ Rob Stone, and Boston Celtics star Enes Kanter.

How long will Gronk retain? We’ll find out soon, but he’s taken off from the Performance Center already with the strap, and Titus O’Neil has taken over hosting duties for the balance of WrestleMania.
