Best lineup strategy for Dolphins vs. Colts Madden simulation Showdown

We break down the best lineup strategies for Monday’s Dolphins-Colts Madden 20 simulation.

The Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts will face off in a simulated Madden 20 game Sunday, and DraftKings will have DFS contests available for the matchup. We break down the ideal showdown lineup strategy for the contest, which you can play at DraftKings.

Captain’s Picks

Marlon Mack, RB, Colts ($13,200)

This game should be a blowout, with the Colts winning easily if Madden rating has any bearing, which it does. The Colts have 13 players with ratings over 80, while the Dolphins have four. The Colts also have seven players at 85 or higher, and the Dolphins have none.

If you look at the offensive and defensive lines, the Colts have four offensive linemen over 82 in Madden rating while the Dolphins best defensive lineman is a 75. This lines up well for Mack to be able to run, especially when their quarterback, Jacoby Brissett, is at a paltry 72. I expect Mack to be the safest offensive player in the bunch.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, Dolphins ($15,600)

The Colts are a much better team on Madden, as they dominate in Madden ratings almost across the board, but, the Dolphins do have the advantage of having the higher rated quarterback in Fitzpatrick. Fitz still doesn’t have a good rating at 74 but Brissett is at 72. That’s not a huge difference of course, but, if the Dolphins do anything, it will be from Fitzgerald. I’m likely going with the safer play of Mack though.

Flex Men

Indianapolis Colts, D/ST, ($4,400)

These simulations are just 20 minutes, so defenses can be fairly safe plays, but they also don’t have a lot of time to rack up big points. Playing Fitzpatrick could be a different story though and with the advantages the Colts have throughout these two rosters, there’s a chance they smash them hard.

T.Y. Hilton, WR, Colts, ($9,800)

Hilton is the highest rated player in this game and even though I’ll fade Brissett, there’s a decent chance Hilton can break out for a big play or two. The same could be said about DeVante Parker, who saw his rating rise during his great 2019 campaign. Those two make for the highest upside receivers and with the Colts D/SRT saving some money. I think we can fit both in, especially if we chuck a kicker in there too.

Adam Vinatieri, K, Colts ($3,800)

As you can see, I don’t have a ton of faith in these offenses, so I’m looking for some points from Vinatieri for cheap. The hope is that this is a low scoring game with Mack racking up points on the ground and Vinatieri getting points on the board.
