The Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles will face off in a Madden sim Sunday at 4:00 p.m. ET. The sim will be set to include rain, as opposed to the normal sunny conditions. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.
Zach Ertz, TE ($12,900)
My guess is a lot of the ownership goes to Williams, Rivers and Keenan Allen ($15,600) in the Captain spot. Ertz could go overlooked and if his ownership is under 10% then we’re looking good. He’s got 100-yard games in two of three and didn’t need to score a TD in either of those games. That isn’t to say Ertz isn’t a red zone threat. He’s got five TDs in 10 games.
Mike Williams, WR ($9,600)
Williams is going to be your chalk option in the Captain. He’s leading the contest in fantasy points per game and is going to cost over $5K less than the next best player: Philip Rivers ($16,800). Williams has gone over the 100-yard mark in five of nine simulations. He’s far and away the top option in the passing game for Rivers and the Chargers. Again, he’ll be VERY high owned, but it’s probably worth it.
Miles Sanders, RB ($6,800)
During the regular season, the Eagles employed more of a RB by committee approach. That hasn’t been the case in Madden sims. Sanders is the guy and he’s getting pretty much all the backfield work. He’s got at least three catches in three of four games and two of those games he went for over 20 fantasy points. The Chargers have a better secondary and pass rush but should be vulnerable to the run.
Travis Benjamin, WR ($3,400)
I’ve seen Benjamin disappear in these contests, so he’s going to be more of a GPP play. At this price, he’s a WR with a lot of upside having scored over 10 fantasy points in three of six games. If his price isn’t going to go up and his production varies, I’m fine taking the risk. You don’t need much from Benjamin to return value.
