Best lineup strategy for Korean baseball DFS May 13th

The KBO’s second week is underway, and DraftKings will have another five-game slate set for Wednesday. We break down some ideal picks at each position below. You can set your lineup here.

Pitcher: Won Tae Choi, Kiwoom Heroes ($8,900)

The Heroes have given up the least runs (23) of any team this season and will be up against a Samsung Lions team that’s dead last in hits (44). Choi posted modest numbers against the Kia Tigers in his first start of the season and has posted a sub-4.00 ERA in each of his last two seasons.

Catcher: Eui Ji Yang, NC Dinos ($5,000)

Yang wasn’t in the starting order Tuesday but was a pinch hitter twice. The Dinos’ manager insisted that he wasn’t in the lineup for rest purposes, so it’s not unreasonable to think he’ll get more at-bats Wednesday. The KT Wiz have given up more runs (46) than any other team in the league, which bodes well for Yang. He’s one of the KBO’s best batters.

First Base: Roberto Ramos, LG Twins ($2,900)

Ramos’ price has risen from $2,700, but he’s still a bargain. He’s tallied two home runs, four RBIs, and been walked twice in his last two games. He’s tallied at least 13 DKFP in three straight games and should continue to be a quality value play.

Second Base: Jose Fernandez, Doosan Bears ($5,200)

Fernandez leads the league in batting average (.577). He’s totaled one home run and six RBIs. His consistency when it comes to getting on base is valuable.

Shortstop: Dixon Machado, Lotte Giants ($4,600)

Machado has notched at least one hit in every game and is batting .348 with three home runs and 10 RBIs. His average of 14.3 DKFP leads all shortstops.

Third Base: Jin Hyuk No, NC Dinos ($3,100)

No’s price still doesn’t reflect his impact. He’ leads all third basemen in DKFP per game (12.2) and has notched double-digits in DKFP in four of his last five appearances. He’s been one of the Dinos’ most consistent performers. His .409 batting average with two home runs and eight RBIs are proof of that.

Outfield: Jae Hwan Kim, Doosan Bears ($5,000)

Kim is playing like the former league MVP he is. The Bears slugger is batting .417 with three home runs and 12 RBIs. While his 16.2 DKFP average has been bolstered by a grand slam, he is a two-time champ who led the KBO in home runs and RBIs in 2018. Don’t count on him going 4-for-4 for a second straight game, but he has a good chance to perform well at the plate again.

Outfield: Preston Tucker, Kia Tigers ($5,600)

Tucker is cheaper than other pricy outfielders like Mel Rojas Jr. and Aaron Altherr, but has similar upside. His average of 14 DKFP per contest has been raised by a 45-point outing, his .478 batting average is the second highest mark in the league.
