There are five more KBO games on tap for Thursday, and that means DraftKings will have its usual classic slate. We break down the ideal picks at each position, and you can set your lineup here.
Pitcher: Seung Ho Lee, Kiwoom Heroes($8,100)
Lee isn’t a strikeout maestro, but is up against a Samsung Lions team that’s struck out a league-leading 64 times. The Lions also have a league-low .193 batting average. The Heroes have also given up the least runs (28) in the KBO this year. Lee is set up to succeed.
Catcher: Sung Woo Jang, KT Wiz ($2,800)
Jang leads his team in RBIs with 11 and ranks third in the KBO. He’s batting .333 and has hit two home runs this year. Rather than going with the highly rostered Eui Ji Yang fresh off an injury, consider a cheaper option who has flashed a high ceiling.
First Base: Roberto Ramos, LG Twins ($3,000)
Ramos has reached double-digits in DKFP in four straight games, but still hasn’t cracked 3,000. He’s the best bargain you’ll find and has enough power to break the slate.
Second Base: Jose Fernandez, Doosan Bears ($5,900)
Fernandez leads the league in batting average (.517) and hits (15). The Bears’ designated hitter gives you a solid floor on a team that leads the league in hits (87).
Shortstop: Dixon Machado, Lotte Giants ($4,700)
Machado is batting .346 and is toward the top of the league in home runs (3). He has 12 RBIs and has failed to reach double-digits in fantasy points twice in seven games. He’s the fourth priciest option at his position but leads all shortstops in DKFP per game (14.1).
Third Base: Jin Hyuk No, NC Dinos ($3,000)
No leads the KBO’s most productive offense in hits (9) and RBIs (8). His two home runs are tied for the team lead. No is batting .385 and has been a rock in the Dinos’ order. Don’t let his second single-digit output of the season deter you.
Outfield: Jae Hwan Kim, Doosan Bears ($4,900)
The Bears’ cleanup hitter is on an impressive tear. He’s batting .429 with four home runs and 14 RBIs and has tallied at least 20 fantasy points in three straight games. Getting a player like him with so much past success in the KBO for under $5,000 is a steal.
Outfield: Jun Woo Jeon, Lotte Giants ($3,800)
Jeon has tallied 73 home runs and 242 RBIs in the last three seasons while batting above .300. He can be a little streaky, but has tallied 14 fantasy points five times in seven games. You’ll either get an underwhelming performance or a double-digit outing from Jeon. At this price, he’s worth the risk.
