Update: Giga Chikadze defeats Irwin Rivera by unanimous decision. It was a terrific performance by Rivera on extremely short notice, but he was outclassed by the faster and longer fighter.
Update: Irwin Rivera has replaced Mike Davis in facing Giga Chikadze. We’ll update bet splits as soon as they’re available.
On the undercard of UFC Fight Night Overeem vs. Harris in Jacksonville on May 16th, Giga Chikadze takes on replacement fighter Irwin Rivera in a featherweight matchup as part of the undercard.
Chikadze is 9-2 as a cage fighter, and 2-0 via a pair of split decisions in his UFC career. He was just fighting on March 7th of this year, giving him one of the shortest turnarounds you’ll see in the promotion. Throughout his career he’s been known as a puncher, and this fight might be unlikely to be his third-straight decision.
The fight will mark Rivera’s UFC debut after fighting for Titan FC in 2019. He was the promotion’s bantamweight champion, and his Florida home is part of the reason he got the call here.
Here are the odds at DraftKings Sportsbook for Giga Chikadze vs. Irwin Rivera at UFC on ESPN 8 on May 16th. We’ll update with bet splits as they become available.
Update 1:30 p.m. Saturday with bet splits:
Rivera: +290 29% handle, 16% bets
Chikadze: -400 71% handle, 84%
