How to watch, bet, and more for NASCAR restart at Darlington

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Bojangles’ Southern 500

NASCAR is officially set to restart its 2020 Cup Series season on Sunday, May 17th with the Real Heroes 400 at Darlington Raceway. The race gets underway at 3:30 p.m. on FOX with a live stream at FOX Sports Live. It marks the first race since the season was suspended following the March 8th FanShield 500.

Who has the pole position?

Brad Keselowski will be on the pole, with Alex Bowman joining him on the front row. There was no qualifying for the race, but rather a random draw based on current points standings. The first 12 spots were randomly assigned to the top 12 points teams, spots 13-24 were randomly assigned to the teams ranked 13-24 in points, and the same for sports 25-36. The final four spots were filled by open, non-chartered teams in order of owner points.

Who are the favorites?

Kyle Busch is the favorite on race day at DraftKings Sportsbook at +550. He is followed by Denny Hamlin (+650), Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski (+700 each), and Joey Logano (+850).

Who does the public like?

Denny Hamlin is getting the most money at DraftKings Sportsbook, with 12 percent of the handle, followed by Kyle Busch at 11%. Busch is getting the largest percentage of bets at 9%, followed by Hamlin at 8%. Longer odds getting bet include Jimmie Johnson (5% of both), Ryan Blaney (4% of both), and Kurt Busch (4% handle, 3% bets).

What can I bet on?

DraftKings Sportsbook is offering a host of wagers. You can bet on who will win, and who will finish in the top 3, top 5, and top 10. The prop bets available include matchups of driver vs. driver, winners of stage 1 and 2, car number, manufacturer and team of race winner, top car by manufacturer, best finish in each of six groups of four racers, and grid position of the race winner.

What are the current Cup Series standings?

Kevin Harvick leads the pack with 164 points, and is one point ahead of Joey Logano. Chase Elliott is third, Alex Bowman is fourth, and Jimmie Johnson rounds out the top five.
