Top NFL Targets at each position for 6-game slate on May 20th

Tevin Coleman has typically gotten a ton of carries in Madden sims, and he could get more than usual Wednesday in the snow against the Colts.

Wednesday’s Madden slate is set. DraftKings has a six-game classic contest going for the second day this week. We break down the best plays at each position below. It’s wacky weather Wednesday, so all the games will take place under poor weather conditions. You can enter your lineups here for a full day of rain and snow games.

Quarterback

Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs ($8,200) vs. Buccaneers

There’s not a lot to think about here. Mahomes is one of the best quarterbacks in that game and will be up against one of the worst secondaries in Madden. He should be able to use his diverse skill set to dominate Tampa Bay. His price will be worth it if he tallies more than 20 fantasy points. This game is in the rain, but that should affect Jameis Winston more than a top-tier quarterback like Mahomes.

Derek Carr, Raiders ($6,400) vs. Cardinals

Despite having Patrick Peterson, the Cardinals haven’t been great at covering most teams through the air. He’s one of the leaders in DKFP per game (19.3). This will also be a rain game, but Carr’s top target is tight end Darren Waller, who shouldn’t go deep too often.

Other option: Mitchell Trubisky, Bears ($5,900) vs. Ravens

Running back

Tevin Coleman, 49ers ($5,800) vs. Colts

Coleman is the driving force behind one of Madden’s most lethal rushing attacks. He leads all running backs in rushing yards ($1,275) and rushing scores (12). The rain could help him get more carries than usual.

Damien Williams, Chiefs ($5,900) vs. Buccaneers

Williams thrives as a pass catcher out of the backfield and could see more work through the air if the rain makes things hard for Mahomes at times. He’s a reliable escape outlet and can eat up yards after the catch.

Saquon Barkley, Giants ($6,500) vs. Vikings

Barkley’s 18 fantasy points per game and should be be a bigger part of New York’s offense in the snow. Short passes and the ground game will be important against a team with such a good defensive line.

Tarik Cohen, Bears ($3,800) vs. Ravens

Cohen is a quality value play and has continued to hover around 10 DKFP per contest consistently. Mitchell Trubisky could have to defer to the speedster in the snow against a solid Ravens secondary.

Other option: Nyheim Hines, Colts ($3,400) vs. 49ers

Wide receiver

Chris Godwin, Buccaneers ($5,400) vs. Chiefs

Godwin has some of the best catching (97) in Madden. While Winston could struggle and throw some picks in the rain, Godwin should have a desirable matchup against Kansas City’s second best cornerback.

Marvin Jones Jr., Lions ($5,000) vs. Steelers

Jones has outperformed Kenny Golladay in most games, and I’d avoid paying up for wideouts who haven’t been highly productive in poor weather. It’s a snow game, but there’s a lot less risk associated with rostering Jones

T.Y. Hilton, Colts ($6,800) vs. 49ers

Hilton has reached double-digits in fantasy points in six of his last seven sims. While he’ll be up against a strong secondary, his elusiveness should still be effective in the rain. Both sides of the ball could struggle some with footing, but Hilton should have an advantage over the defensive backs.

Tyreek Hill, Chiefs ($7,900) vs. Buccaneers

I’m high on hill despite the rain. His speed will be even more of a hassle for Buccaneers defensive backs in the rain. None of them are close to being skilled enough or fast enough to cover him effectively.

Other option: Darius Slayton, Giants ($3,600) vs. Vikings

Tight End

Darren Waller, Raiders ($5,100) vs. Cardinals

Waller is one of the more dangerous targets on intermediate routes. The rain could cause Carr to look for short routes more often, which benefits Waller.

Vance McDonald, Steelers ($4,100) vs. Lions

McDonald is riding a four-game streak of double-digit fantasy point outings. None of Pittsburgh’s wideouts have been standout players, and McDonald averages more DKFP per game (13.6) than all of them but JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Other option: Eric Ebron, Colts ($5,200) vs. 49ers

Defense/Special Teams

Steelers D/ST ($2,900) vs. Lions

Detroit has one of the least productive run games in these Madden sims and Pittsburgh has a well-rounded defense that can get after the quarterback and defend the pass. This looks like it could be a lower scoring game in the snow.
