It’s that time again! Josh Gordon will apply for reinstatement soon, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. Gordon was reinstated to start last season with the Patriots who let him go, presumably because they found out about his new violations. He joined the Seahawks and played five more games before getting suspended again toward the end of the season.
His suspension is indefinite, but the NFL has changed their policy on marijuana this season. The league will be more in the treatment side of the spectrum now, which is likely why they’ve been more lax in dealing with Gordon of late. It truly feels like they want Gordon to succeed and get better instead of just punishing him for whatever substances he is getting popped for.
If he does get reinstated, Gordon would be a free agent, but he appears to have found a home with Seattle for the time being. As long as he can win a job, the Seahawks look like they would welcome him back with open arms. He’s no longer the stud fantasy player he was back in 2014 with the Browns and would have to win the job behind Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf, but he showed enough last season and is still 29, giving him a window for production if he can be reinstated and stay clean.
