Breaking down the 10 most popular prop bets for The Match

There are plenty of options to wager on for Sunday’s showdown featuring Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning vs. Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady. We break down what people are betting on.

We are just over 48 hours away from The Match: Champions For Charity, when Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning will face off against Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady at The Medalist Golf Club. The event gets underway at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 24th, with Turner Sports broadcasting across TNT, TBS, truTV, and HLN.

DraftKings Sportsbook is offering a host of wagering opportunities for the match. You can bet on the basic overall winner, but you can also bet on how individual golfers will perform on individual holes, who will lead at certain points, and when the match will be won.

We got a look at some of the more popular bets at the book, and it’s both surprising and not surprising to see what’s at or near the top. The single most bet prop bet heading into the weekend is that there will be a hole-in-one during the match. That is also third in total handle, but it’s worth noting that it is No. 1 in total bets by a wide margin, and is well behind the Woods fairway in regulation that tops total handle. A lot of people are enjoying the +5000 odds, but not at a high price.

The other longer shots are whether either team will hole a shot off the green and whether someone will get an eagle in the tournament. For holing in off the green, YES is installed at +240 while NO is listed at -305. This wager is getting the second most total bets, and is tenth in handle. For getting an eagle, YES is installed at +300 while NO is listed at -400. This wager is getting the third most bets, and is sixth in handle.

Hole 1 is a busy hole for prop bets, in part because it offers the most wagering possibilities. Hole specials are offered on 1, 3, 4, 5, 8, 12, and 16, but hole 1 is the only one offering results for each golfer’s performance. The top two bets by handle are Woods reaching the Hole 1 fairway in regulation and Mickelson scoring a birdie on Hole 1.

Finally, the most regular action in terms of total bets is who will lead at certain points. Woods and Manning are the favorites, and they are currently getting the most action. Heading into the weekend, while total bets are split evenly between the twosomes, 59 percent of total handle is on the favorites. It’s no surprise then that the top two most bet “leaders after hole x” are on Woods and Manning.

Top bet props, Tiger/Manning vs. Phil/Brady
