The KBO is kicking off the weekend with a five-game slate on Saturday, and DraftKings will have classic contests available. We break down some ideal picks at each position below. You can set your lineup here.
Pitcher: Eric Jokisch, Kiwoom Heroes ($8,900)
Jokisch was fifth in strikeouts last season (141) and leads the field in DKFP average (21.7). His .53 ERA is second to only NC Dinos ace Chang Mo Koo. He’ll likely be highly rostered, but has produced at such a high level that he’s can’t be passed on.
Catcher: Jin Sung Kang, KT Wiz ($2,900)
Kang has maintained the highest DKFP average (9.3) in the field at the catcher position. His batting average got been bumped up to .467 after Friday’s outing, and he consistently gets a chance to bring runners home thanks to the Dinos’ dynamic batting order.
First Base: Roberto Ramos, LG Twins ($3,400)
The KBO’s home run leader has seen his price rise, but can still return solid value. His batting average .390 is solid and he’ll be up against an inexperienced pitcher.
Second Base: Jose Fernandez, Doosan Bears ($6,400)
It seems like Fernandez will be the most expensive option at second base for the foreseeable future. He leads the league in hits (30) and batting average .472. Fernandez will be up against a starting pitcher who has never lasted longer than 2 2⁄3 innings. If Dae Woo Kim is on the mound for the Samsung Lions, it’s safe to say that their rotation is more than a little suspect. Fernandez should be worth paying up for here.
Shortstop: Jin Hyuk No, NC Dinos ($3,200)
No has gotten back on track after going cold and has tallied four hits in his last two games. His batting average ha risen to .315 and he has 10 RBIs to his name. He could be settling in to become one of the Dinos’ more consistent base hit contributors.
Third Base: Chan Ho Park, Kia Tigers ($4,500)
Last year’s steals leader is starting to pick up some steam. He’s tallied double-digits in fantasy points in three of his last four games. His improved batting has helped him record two steals during that span. Third base has been one of the more difficult places to find value, so a middle-of-the-road option like Park makes sense.
Outfield: Dong Min Han, SK Wyverns ($4,100)
Han sits atop the home run leaders list with six bombs on the year. He’s tied with Ramos and has been respectable at the plate even when he doesn’t hit dingers. He’s batting .321 with 12 RBIs. He’s affordable and has plenty of upside.
Outfield: Mel Rojas Jr., KT Wiz ($6,000)
Rojas’ home run hitting hasn’t taken off just yet, but he’s batting .452 and has notched multiple hits in three straight games. He’s averaging 12.5 fantasy points per game and has been more consistent than the two outfielders who are more expensive than him.
