The Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals will face off in a Madden sim Saturday at 6:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.
Mitchell Trubisky ($16,200)
Having seen what the Bengals defense can do against offenses (very little), I have full confidence in Trubisky to keep rolling in this contest. You’d think we were watching Michael Vick in his prime but it’s actually Trubisky in a simulation on Madden. Trubisky is up to 839 rushing yards with five TDs in 16 games. If he had been a running back alone, those numbers would look pretty solid. Couple that with the fact Mitch has thrown for over 3,000 yards and 23 TDs and yeah, he’s kind of unfadeable in these Showdowns.
Taylor Gabriel ($9,300)
I’m giving an edge to Gabriel over Allen Robinson ($14,700) because, well, look at the prices. I’m not concerned with Gabriel’s lack of production really. This is a matchup that any WR can exploit and Gabriel tends to get a lot of deep looks in this offense. Gabriel has gone a lot of games under 10 fantasy points. The last time he didn’t? That was over 30 points against the Chiefs secondary. Gabriel gives us upside and leverage considering Mitch will be chalky.
Joe Mixon ($9,000)
I really like Mixon as a leverage play in the FLEX. He’s going to cost a little bit less than the Captain and I think using the Bengals RB in that spot is too risky. In the FLEX, however, Mixon has some appeal. He had a goose egg on the ground against Dallas but from what I’ve seen, the Bears defense is a little leaky in the run game. Really, the hope here is that most lineups power stack the Bears and you’ve got an edge if Mixon ends up reaching pay dirt.
Trey Burton ($7,200)
For this Showdown, I want as much real estate in the Bears as possible. I love Tarik Cohen ($3,000) a ton in this contest, but won’t get into him much, that play is easy and chalk. Burton will also be attractive at this price as Trubisky’s most consistent target. We’ve seen in similar matchups against the Bucs and Raiders that Burton is capable of 20+ FPTs. An all-out Bears stack is how I would play most of my lineups in this contest.
