The Houston Texans and Los Angeles Chargers will face off in a Madden sim Sunday at 8:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.
Will Fuller V ($10,800)
The Chargers have a decent secondary and Casey Hayward should be considered a shutdown corner. I’m not saying that means you should fade DeAndre Hopkins ... but you should fade DeAndre Hopkins. It’s insanely risky but really Hopkins hasn’t returned his price nearly as consistent as he was earlier in the sim season. Because of that, I like Fuller as a pivot. He’s got a decent ceiling and will go lower owned.
Mike Williams ($10,200)
This price is getting up on Mike Will but he’s still a strong play in my eyes. While the yardage has dipped, the TDs are still there. He’s scored in four of his past five games and a down game in his last sim left his price the same. There’s still value here knowing the Chargers are going to chuck all game.
Lamar Miller ($7,800)
Miller is among the RB1 group that really doesn’t have much value in Madden sims. He doesn’t get the volume of a workhorse back and the Texans are predominantly a passing team. For those reasons, Miller’s production has been down ... but not recently. Actually, over the past three games, Miller has two TDs while putting up over double-digit fantasy points in each contest. He’s going to get work in the passing game and I think Miller’s ownership will be low.
Austin Ekeler ($2,800)
Ekeler is my designated lotto ticket of this Showdown. Melvin Gordon has been awful and still gets carries. That doesn’t mean Ekeler isn’t a factor. He cuts into Gordon’s touches and is also the third-down back. We’ve seen high ceiling games from Ekeler — 65 yards and two TDs a few sims ago against the Bills.
