The Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns will face off in a Madden sim Monday at 12:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.
Patrick Mahomes, QB, Chiefs ($16,500)
Patrick Mahomes will almost always be a top captain’s pick. He can sling it to an abundance of talented targets. Cleveland doesn’t have a defensive back with an overall rating above 85, but Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill sport 96 overall ratings. Those two combined with Sammy Watkins and Damien Williams are bound to give Cleveland a hard time.
Odell Beckham Jr., WR, Browns ($14,700)
Kendall Fuller is no scrub at cornerback, but being tasked with defending Beckham is a challenge for any defensive back in sim land. Considering Cleveland’s defensive disadvantage, it’s likely that Baker Mayfield will throw the ball down the field a ton in an attempt to keep up with Kansas City’s offense. That means Beckham could get plenty of jump ball opportunities and rack up yardage.
Jarvis Landry, WR, Browns ($7,000)
You always have to look out for slot receivers, and Landry is one of the best in the game. WR2’s typically don’t end up being listed as slot receivers, so it’s often WR3s or WR4s who are able to get open underneath. Landry is more skilled than those reserve receivers and should be able to create some space while Beckham pulls the defense toward him.
Damien Williams, RB, Chiefs ($7,800)
Williams has been surprisingly productive on the ground for a running back who is is the third best offensive option on his team. While he plays in a pass-oriented offense, he’s tallied multiple 100-yard rushing games while also being involved through the air.
