The San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets will face off in a Madden sim Monday at 2:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.
Emmanuel Sanders ($14,400)
I’ve learned my lesson. I won’t fade Sanders again. I swear. In his last game against the Colts, Sanders torched Indy for two TDs and 96 yards on eight catches for 29.6 FPTs. 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo is more accurate throwing the ball on short routes, so naturally he targets Sanders a ton. The only downside to Sanders is his ownership will likely be high.
George Kittle ($13,800)
I didn’t even look up Kittle’s price before making this pick. That’s how much of a lock I think it is. I’ve seen the Jets get torched by TEs and it’s not really dependent on TDs. In the Jets last sim, they let up nine receptions to Jared Cook on the Saints. They’ve previously let up 12 receptions to T.J. Hockenson on the Lions. Kittle is an elite TE1 and has been better than both Cook and Hockenson in sim land.
Le’Veon Bell ($9,000)
There’s a lot to like about Bell in this matchup given what we know about ownership trends. Generally, the Jets are being underrated and Bell isn’t going to be the highest owned player in the FLEX. More Jets = more leverage in our lineups. Bell could get shut down by a tough San Fran defense or he could break the matchup. He’s proven he can do work in the passing game, so we don’t need to worry about his floor.
Levine Toilolo ($1,000)
My favorite type of plays in these Showdowns is the cheap TE3-4. Toilolo is one of the safer options I’ve seen on any team. He’s catching passes in most contests and has even caught a couple of TDs. Remember, when teams get into the red zone and goal line packages, they sometimes like to fake handoffs to set up TE TDs.
