UPDATE: How the public is betting Dern-Cifers
A once-rising UFC star will be a big favorite on Saturday night when Mackenzie Dern faces Hannah Cifers in a women’s strawweight bout at UFC Fight Night on May 30th at the UFC Apex arena in Las Vegas.
Dern has a 7-1 career record, but has also missed weight three times in her strawweight career. At UFC 224 she came in a whopping seven pounds overweight, and has missed the scales three times when fighting at 115 lbs. She did make weight her last time out against Amanda Ribas, her first career loss in a unanimous decision on October 12th. Incredibly, the fight was just four months after having her first child.
Cifers is a significant underdog, but is 10-4 in her MMA career and 2-2 in UFC. She was stopped by Angela Hill in January by TKO. She has five knockouts from her 10 wins, but has yet to stop anyone in a UFC octagon.
