UPDATE: How the public is betting Gutierrez-Morales
The opening fight on the UFC Fight Night card on Saturday, May 30th is a pair of equally-matched bantamweights in Chris Gutierrez and Vince Morales, which will be the first bout in UFC’s return to the UFC Apex arena since the Covid-19 crisis.
Guiterrez has the nickname El Guapo, and is 14-4-1 in his MMA career. He’s 2-1 since joining UFC, with a pair of decision wins in 2019, but in his career he’s got seven stoppages across his 14 wins. The 29-year-old from Greenville, Texas has defeated Ryan MacDonald and Geraldo de Freitas Jr. since coming to the biggest promotion.
Morales is also 29, fighting out of Caldwell, Idaho. Despite a loss in Dana White’s Contender Series in July of 2018 he earned a contract to UFC in November of that year, but is 1-2 in the octagon since. All his UFC fights have seen the scorecards, but he had five KO’s and two submissions in his nine wins coming through the smaller promotions on his way to the octagon.
