Best lineup strategy for Eagles vs. Giants Madden simulation Showdown

Thursday’s first Madden sim will be between the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants at 12:00 p.m. ET. DraftKings will have a Showdown contest available for the matchup, and we break down some ideal picks below. You can set your lineup here.

Captain’s Picks

Saquon Barkley, RB, Giants ($14,700)

Both teams have versatile running backs with high ceilings, but Barkley has better stats across the board. He’s faster, more agile, stronger, and has better catching as well. However, his offensive line isn’t as good as Philadelphia’s. Barkley is the best skill player on his team though, so that could result in him getting more touches and raises his ceiling.

Miles Sanders, RB, Eagles ($10,800)

Sanders hasn’t performed like a running back with a 78 rating throughout this sim season. In fact, he’s been one of the more productive running backs we’ve seen. He’s much more affordable than Barkley, which could help you put together a more complete lineup. He should also benefit from not having to go up against his team’s top-notch defensive line.

Flex Men

Darius Slayton, WR, Giants ($5,400)

New York has a talented group of wideouts that should be able to flourish against Philadelphia’s secondary. While Golden Tate and Sterling Shepard are the top dogs, Slayton has outperformed both on multiple occasions. His 93 speed makes him the fastest member of the receiving corps.

Zach Ertz, TE, Eagles ($8,600)

Ertz has passed Nelson Agholor in receptions and is the Eagles’ best target in the air. He has the best catching (93) of any pass catcher in the contest and also has the highest overall rating.
