The KT Wiz and Kiwoom Heroes are facing off in a KBO matchup Friday at 5:30 a.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and DraftKings will have Showdown contests available for the game. We break down the ideal lineup strategy below, and you can play here.
Captain’s Picks
Eric Jokisch, SP, Kiwoom Heroes: $15,600
Jokisch has been one of the KBO’s best pitchers so far this year. He’s 3-0 and has the third lowest ERA 1.17 in the league. His WHIP (.87) only trails Chang Mo Koo’s minuscule .66. The opposition is missing two of its better batters in Baek Ho Kang and Han Joon Woo. I like Jokisch’s odd’s against a weakened lineup.
Mel Rojas Jr., 1B/OF, KT Wiz: $15,000
Rojas is easily his team’s best power hitter with Kang out of the picture. He’s batting .423 with four home runs and 13 RBIs. His OBP (.471) ranks fourth in the KBO while his OPS (1.151) ranks third. A batter with numbers like these has to receive serious consideration for a captain’s slot.
Utility Picks
Jeong Dae Bae, OF, KT Wiz: $4,000
Bae is a top-notch value play at this price. He’s third in hits (22) on his team and is batting .377 with 14 RBIs. His OBP (.429) just cracks the top 10 in the KBO this year. He has the upside to crack double-digits in fantasy points and has a solid floor as well.
Ha Seong Kim, SS, Kiwoom Heroes : $10,600
Kim is in a bit of a rut but has still been able to get on base consistently. Min Kim might be 2-0, but he’s given up 11 runs in 15 innings of work. The Heroes’ star is one of the better batters in the KBO and shouldn’t be on the downstroke for long.
