We’ve got professional baseball, we’ve got a primer for the Korea Baseball Organization, and we’ve got DFS prices. Welcome back professional sports!

The KBO will have six games a week on ESPN and ESPN2, and you’ll see DFS Showdown matchups for all of them. It’s a great way to learn about a league abroad, and a chance to make some dollars if you dive in with both feet learning about the league.

Here are some lineup recommendations for Opening Night in the Korea Baseball Organization between the NC Dinos and the Samsung Lions. Keep in mind your Captain costs 1.5 times his standard salary but scores 1.5 times his standard fantasy points.

Captain’s Picks

Sung Bum-Na, NC Dinos: $9,600 as Captain

Was a masher last year in the limited action he played, with a 1.089 OPS and 34 hits in just 23 games last season. Plenty of upside here.

Hun Gon Kim: $12,300 as Captain

This guy just hits. Was third on the team in knocks last season with 122 in 114 games with a .748 OPS. Also reached 45 times between walks and hit by pitch.

Utility Picks

Tyler Saladino, Samsung Lions: $9,200

He’s coming over from MLB after spending the last five seasons with the White Sox and Brewers. With a .608 OPS for his career with only 2.2 WAR lifetime, he’s probably not a great hitter by MLB standards, but anyone with over 1000 plate appearances in the bigs the last five years should shine here. Especially as only the fifth-highest salaried player in today’s matchup.

Eui Ji Yang, NC Dinos: $9,000

Led his team with 20 home runs last year and a 1.012 OPS, and he’s a catcher! 224 total bases in 118 games, and even stole four bases. Seems very undervalued at this price!
