The Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills will face off in a Madden sim Monday at 8:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.
Captain’s Picks
Lamar Jackson ($18,600)
Before I state the obvious reasons for captaining the reigning NFL MVP, let me say that this game could be ugly. Like really ugly. Like Brendan Glasheen after shaving his eyebrows for likes ugly. Neither team has put up many points per game in simulations. Most of the offense is thanks to Jackson. He might rival 70-80% ownership in this spot, but that’s chalk we may need to eat.
Mark Andrews ($11,100)
Andrews would be a way for you to find some leverage but also a safe captain with an OK ceiling. The Ravens TE has had a few games in the 18-20 point range, which is fine for the Captain slot. If anyone is going to pop for Baltimore, the chances of it being Jackson or Andrews are high.
FLEX Men
Stephen Hauschka ($4,200)
Like I said above, this game could be low scoring. We’ve got two of the better NFL defenses going head-to-head. With that, Hauschka could be a strong leverage play. He’s been consistent enough that rostering him isn’t even that outlandish. He’s got at least 6.0 fantasy points in seven straight sims. So if it’s low scoring and Hauschka boots 3-4 FGs, he’s going to be a key play.
Seth Roberts ($3,800)
My cheap WR play is Roberts, who has double-digit fantasy points in three of four games. Two of those games Roberts has found the end zone. He doesn’t get a ton of volume, but most of the time when Roberts is targeted, it’s downfield. That elevates his ceiling as a WR with speed in Madden.
