The Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions will face off in a Madden sim Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.

Captain’s Picks

Marvin Jones Jr. ($11,100)

Jones is probably the most appealing “value” captain in this contest. He’ll save a bit of salary and has been just as productive overall as Kenny Golladay ($14,100). Jones has a MASSIVE ceiling having scored 43 fantasy points in a simulation earlier in the season. He’s also got back-to-back double-digit games. He’ll be a trendy captain’s pick.

Detroit Lions D/ST ($4,800)

This is sort of a crazy play but hear me out. The Browns had been shut out in two games before posting 20+ points vs. the Giants in their last sim. The Lions D has actually been decent, not allowing more than 20 points in four straight games. All Detroit needs to do is get a turnover or two and a few sacks and they could pay off. If it’s a low scoring game, the Lions D/ST could be a sneaky play.

FLEX Men

Danny Amendola ($5,000)

I’m going to go over some more value because I feel like it’s always easy to pick between the top studs in these contests. Amendola has a safe floor as a slot receiver and has five double-digit fantasy outings in his past seven sims. If any team is going to cave in this one, it’s the Browns. So if that’s the case, the Lions offense is where we’ll want ownership. Amendola gives us some leverage.

Kareem Hunt ($3,000)

I like lottery tickets and Hunt is exactly that — a second string, third-down back who has some upside. We’ve seen Hunt go for over 50 yards on the ground, just in limited carries. He’s got some TD potential and you know what I always say in these sims: Expect the unexpected. Hunt feels like a strong value who could pop.
