Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson have been trying to figure out an opportunity to face off while the PGA Tour has been sidelined, and they’ve finalized plans for a charity event. Tiger will partner with Peyton Manning while Phil will partner with Tom Brady at Medalist Golf Club at Hobe Sound, FL, which is just north of West Palm Beach.
The match will take place over 18 holes on May 24th at 3 p.m. ET. Turner Sports will broadcast the event across TNT, TBS, truTV and HLN.
The match will feature two different formats. The front nine will feature a Four Ball (Best Ball) format. The back nine will feature a Modified Alternate Shot format. There will also be various on-course challenges to raise charitable funds. WarnerMedia and the golfers are collectively donating $10 million to benefit Covid-10 relief efforts.
The live coverage will include all four players wearing open mics throughout the competition, and there will be a chance for them to communicate across the course with each other and the broadcast commentators.
