In a preliminary card welterweight bout, #13-ranked Vicente Luque takes on Niko Price as part of UFC 249 live from the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida this Saturday.
These two have fought before, as Luque was a last-minute replacement on October 28th, 2017. Despite only having 11 days to prepare for his opponent, Luque won by D’Arce choke in the second round.
Luque, nicknamed The Silent Assassin, joined UFC in 2015 as part of The Ultimate Fighter. He reached the final but lost to Michael Graves, though he was signed anyway and won his first four fights in the promotion. He has also won six of his last seven, but fell by unanimous decision to Stephen Thompson on November 2nd of last year in his last outing.
Price is 14-3, with a 6-3 record in a UFC cage. The Cape Coral, Florida recently inked a four-fight contract with the promotion, and Luque is the first of those bouts. His last three wins have not only been knockouts, they’ve also been named Performance of The Night and Price has received the cash bonus that comes with it.
