Mitchell vs. Rosa results: Bryce Mitchell wins by unanimous decision.
In a featherweight bout on the preliminary card of UFC 249, rising start Bryce Mitchell takes on Charles Rosa in a three-round bout live from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.
Mitchell, aka “Thug Nasty,” is completing his economics degree at Harding University in his home state of Arkansas. He was a semifinalist in The Ultimate Fighter, but was signed by the promotion anyway. His last fight against Matt Sayles was honored “Submission of The Year” by multiple websites for his “twister” tap out maneuver, only the second one ever seen in a UFC octagon.
Rosa signed with Dana White’s company in 2014. After a 2-3 record in his first fights, he had to sit out almost two-and-a-half years with a neck injury that doctors said should end his career. Through intense training and therapy he was able to return, and last October 18th he submitted Manny Bermudez to complete a tremendous comeback. Mitchell will be the second fight since his return. Rosa is also a graduate of Johnson & Wales University, where he played lacrosse.
