The New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts will face off in a Madden sim Friday at 10:00 p.m. ET. The sim will be set to include rain, as opposed to the normal sunny conditions. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.
T.Y. Hilton, WR ($15,300)
I preach WRs as the end-all, be-all of Madden simulation fantasy football. Hilton is the top wideout on both sides and so far he’s looked like a No. 1 in simulations. He’s coming off a monster 8-catch, 159-yard, two-TD performance against the Raiders for 38.9 points in his last sim. The Patriots are supposed to have a strong defense, but have been vulnerable in the secondary in sims. Hilton has had a few games of two TDs, so I’m find paying up to get that type of ceiling.
Ben Watson, TE ($10,500)
Tight ends are always solid in these contests and Watson has been a stud for the Pats. It’s odds because he really didn’t do anything for New England during the regular season. But he’s the No. 1 TE in an offense that loves to feature the position normally. Watson has looked more like Gronk, averaging 16.5 fantasy points per game. He’s among the best value Captain’s despite a high price tag.
Eric Ebron, TE ($7,400)
Unlike Watson, Ebron got some work for the Colts in 2019, but wasn’t nearly as productive as 2018. Still, we’re getting moreso the player from that season than the one from 2019. Ebron is averaging 13.4 fantasy points per sim with 48 receptions for 576 yards. He only had two TDs, so I’m expecting a bit of positive regression there. If the TDs start to come, Ebron should be a force in sims. At this price, we’re banking on that happening in a good matchup.
Nyheim Hines, RB ($2,200)
Pass-catching backs are always solid in fantasy football and it’s no different in sim land. Hines operates as the 3rd-down back and has at least two receptions in three of four games. The Colts offense has a high ceiling and we know New England isn’t the same unit. Knowing Hines will get a few catches alone should make it really easy to flex him at this price.
