Cerrone vs. Pettis results: Anthony Pettis defeats Donald Cerrone by unanimous decision
Two older lightweights that are looking to get back into contention for a title will meet when Donald Cerrone faces Anthony Pettis in a preliminary bout at UFC 249 at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida Saturday night.
Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone is 37 and is in his 13th year in UFC. He’s fought for the lightweight title four times unsuccessfully, and his loss to Conor McGregor in January might have ended his chances of ever being a champion. He’s also lost his last three fights, and hasn’t made it through the second round, but is still ranked sixth in the division.
Anthony “Showtime” Pettis is a small favorite by the oddsmakers despite only being ranked 15th in the division, but he’s receiving 47% of the bets and 67% of the handle for the fight, which is usually an indicator of sharper action. In a battle of these two veterans, there’s also a betting expectation it falls short of the full three rounds, with an early stoppage paying $100 for every $167 wagered.
Below are the updated betting lines for Donald Cerrone vs. Anthony Pettis at UFC 249.
