UPDATE: How the public is betting Julia Avila vs. Gina Mazany

A possible future contender for the bantamweight women’s rankings enters as a big favorite when Julia Avila takes on Gina Mazany at UFC on ESPN this Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Avila is 7-1 in her MMA career, and won her UFC debut against Pannie Gianzad via unanimous decision in July of last year. The Bakersfield, California native has only one loss, and it’s a rare way to go down: While blocking a kick at 49 seconds of the first round against Marciea Allen in May of 2018, she suffered one of the most gruesome finger injuries you’ll ever see. So her only loss is the rare “TKO (finger injury)” on the fight report. Of her eight career wins, four are via stoppage.

Mazany is 6-3 overall, and gets back to the UFC after being dropped following a 1-3 record on her initial contract. Her win over Valerie Barney was a first round choke in January, and it was enough to get her back to the main promotion. She’ll still be a heavy underdog here however.
