The New York Jets and Carolina Panthers will face off in a Madden sim Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.

Weather Wednesday Breakdown

So this is a special slate of games we’ve got for Wednesday since it’s weather Wednesday! For Jets vs. Panthers, the weather will be wind. So we’re going to see higher gusts of wind through the matchup. With that in mind, you need to take that into account for both WRs and QBs. I’m not crazy about QBs anyway, so now both are off the table. Both aren’t very good in Madden anyway. Sam Darnold ($15,600 CP) and Cam Newton ($16,800 CP) both lack the ceiling at this price. So it may be wise to look toward RBs as your main skill position guys.

Captain’s Pick

Le’Veon Bell ($13,500)

So with the wind in mind, I’m going to go with Lev Bell over CMC ($16,200) at Captain. First, we get a ton of savings on Bell and he’s been better than CMC in these contests. Christian McCaffrey only averages 12.9 DKFP per contest. Lev Bell is up at 14.4 per game and has a safer floor coupled with a better ceiling for the Cap. Bell is the main option around the goal line as well.

Bargain Shopping

I worry a little bit about the WRs in this contest but it isn’t enough to get me off some of them. Curtis Samuel ($6,400) is the best value in terms of price per point at the FLEX. Demaryius Thomas ($5,000) may not be a bad idea either. He isn’t TD dependent and points could be hard to come by.

If that’s the case and it’s a snoozefest, go with a D/ST or a kicker. The Panthers defense at $3,600 is an interesting play. Honestly, the Jets D/ST ($3,400) might even be a better play. New York has a decent pass rush and is one of the better units in Madden sim land.
