La Liga returns! DFS Showdown picks for Sevilla vs. Real Betis on Thursday

El Gran Derbi is the first match in the return of La Liga to play, as two neighbors face off tomorrow at 4 p.m. ET

Welcome back, La Liga! While Sevilla sits in third place and hoping to hold onto Champions League qualification, Real Betis is a mid-table side that will want to knock off their rival on Thursday. Sevilla won this match at Betis 2-1 in November, but the return leg will be much more of a neutral affair with no fans in the stands. These teams are only separated by about 2.5 miles anyway, so any travel advantage will be none.

And of course DraftKings will have plenty of ways to have some action on tomorrow’s match, including via DFS Showdown for the return match in Spain, and a hotly-contested derby between two teams in the southwest part of the country.

Here are our DFS picks for Derbi Sevillano tomorrow:

Captain’s Pick

Luuk De Jong ($12,600)

With both Suso and Lucas Ocampos listed as questionable, someone will need to pick up the offense for the favored home team. De Jong has five goals in 18 starts and is a bit below standard in xG converted (6.8), but should see plenty of service tomorrow. He also scored as the striker in a 4-1-4-1 setup against Athletico in Los Nervionenses last match before the break. They’ve got to play through someone, and it should be De Jong.

Flex Picks

Nabil Fekir ($10,600)

Spending a bit less on a Captain’s Pick allows us to take the Betis talisman, who has seven goals this season and completes 79.5% of his passes. He’s played the full 90 the last three matches, generating 15 shots as well. You won’t want a ton of Betis players on your roster, but an impact #9 that’s worth the price is here.

Sergio Reguilon ($6,600)

Can get forward from his left back position, and might need to with enough of Sevilla’s offense sidelined. While he only has one goal, he’s also contributed four assists, and there’s no one on the Betis right side he’ll need to mark and get stuck in against. Also completes 77.9% of his passes from a defensive position, and can score for you with 0.7 points for every cross delivered.
